Donà is part of the Souvenir collection, inspired by the Grand Tourists of the 18th and 19th centuries. These travelers embarked on journeys across Europe, Italy, North Africa, and the Holy Land as an essential and fashionable part of their education. The souvenirs they brought back—replicas of classical sculptures, monuments, and ancient ruins from Greece and Rome—remain timeless symbols of refined taste and cultural appreciation.
I am incredibly proud of this pastel pencil drawing and how it captures the interplay of light and shadow on Donatello’s bronze sculpture of David.
